Jorgensen brings Libertarian message of less government to North Side

Joshua Williams arrived in the courtyard near the North Side headquarters of the Ohio Libertarian Party a little early Saturday evening to talk to attendees and grab a few signatures.

The 33-year-old plans to run for Columbus City Council next year, as a Libertarian. He’s already cast his general election ballot, including a vote for Jo Jorgensen, the party’s presidential candidate.

Jorgensen has an uphill battle, in an election where most of the attention is on Republican President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden. But it’s important, Williams said, for Libertarians to support their candidates and ensure third-party access to future ballots.

“I’m for the people, that’s why,” he said. “I don’t care about the Democrats or Republicans, I don’t want to be tied to what the government wants. I want to be tied to what the people want.”..
