Washington Libertarian Polls 13.4% for Insurance Commission in Three-Way Race, but Fails to Qualify for November Ballot

Ballot Access News

At the Washington top-two primary of August 4, Libertarian Anthony Welti received 13.4% of the vote in a three-way race, but that was third place, so he cannot run in the November election. His opponents were Democratic incumbent Mike Kreidler, and Republican Chirayu Avinash Patel.

Washington is still counting votes, but so far Welti has 261,067 votes, the largest number of votes for a third party member in a partisan Washington race since Ross Perot polled 541,780 votes as an independent in 1992.
