GREENWICH — Forget Republican and Democrat, the affiliation that some local candidates are now seeking is independent — as in the Connecticut Independent Party.
The party will hold a caucus Wednesday night at the Cos Cob Library where the Republican incumbents and the Democratic challenger in two state legislative races in town will be seeking endorsements. Town residents who are registered with the Independent Party, which is a political party and not simply unaffiliated voters, can attend and nominate candidates to appear on the party’s line on the November ballot.
The caucus will begin at 7 p.m., and the nominations are expected to be decided that night. (Continue Reading)
